Heart of Gold

A story about generosity.

A rich man's generosity is tested when his possessions mysteriously disappear.  Although he himself is now in great need, he feels more deeply the suffering of others and finds new ways to help them.  The harder he works, the more powerful his joy in giving grows.  When his wealth is eventually restored, he is able to extend the benefits of his generosity more widely.
