The Bodhi Tree ...

The tree of awakening, also known as the Bo Tree, is where Siddhartha Gautama is said to have gained enlightenment (bodhi) after meditating under it for 49 days. Given its close association with the occasion of his attaining Buddhahood, the tree has great symbolic significance and is revered by many. The original tree resides in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India.

A Real Leaf's journey ...

Each Bodhi Leaf ornament begins as a real leaf that is then filigreed, leaving only the skeleton structure. The leaf is then brushed with a layer of copper for strength and then preserved in 24kt gold.

Each ornament is adorned with semi-precious stones and a hand-painted glass bead, painted from the inside. This technique was perfected by artisans long ago using extremely slender, finely sharpened bamboo sticks

Watering the Roots of Bodh Gaya, India ...

Through the Light of Buddhadharma Foundation International, proceeds will be going towards supporting children in the Bodh Gaya.
